The idea for Taylored Equestrian began after one of Zoe's competition horses suffered from an epiploic entrapment resulting in 12' of his intestine being removed. Over the next few months Bill recieved 24 hour care, lots of TLC and a structured work program to help bring him back to competition fitness.
Realising that normal livery yards and working life are not very compatible with a horse going through rehab Taylored Equestrian was born.. |
Having experienced first hand the stress associated with having a horse undergo serious surgery Zoe can fully empathise with the nervous state an owner is in when they hand their horse over to the care of another person. It is with this in mind that Zoe is very aware of the need to communicate with the owners and to always keep them in the loop.
Operating on a quality not quantity basis we only take in a few horses at a time enabling us to maintain the continuity needed to successfully rehab, re school or train the horses. This one to one working relationship also allows us to read all the little nuances from the horses and to keep them in the best possible condition.
Zoe's dressage training and clear philosophy enables her to ride horses through the various stages of their working lives, whether it is for rehab, training and educating the young horse or competing in the dressage arena.

Zoe Taylor
Zoe is the driving force behind Taylored Equestrian.
As well as running the rehab yard Zoe is a successful dressage competitor, and has qualified a selection of horses through to The Winter and National Championships. She has had top ten placings in young horse classes, freestyles and pure classes up to medium including 2 Reserve National Champion titles. In 1997 Zoe trained under Jane and Christopher Bartle at The Yorkshire Riding Centre , at the end of her training she took, and passed, her BHSAI exams. |
Zoe continued to train with Jane for many years after leaving YRC. For the last 7 years she has trained with Richard Davison and Harry Payne.
Zoe's style of riding/training works towards getting the horse to work through from behind to the connection without shutting the front end down. This basic concept comes into play whether she is riding one of the Competition Horses or riding rehab work on a horse with Kissing Spines or a Tendon/leg injury.
